Rangers skipper Tavernier has been the subject of plenty of reported interest from down south this summer.

The former Newcastle and Wigan defender has been the subject of plenty of interest from down south this summer, after an excellent 2017-18 campaign which saw the 27-year-old score nine goals and create another nine assists.
His form and commitment to the cause at Ibrox saw new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard hand him the captain’s armband for the 2018-19 campaign, and he has continued to show he is worth the honour this season.
Indeed, Tavernier has scored two goals and laid on two more assists in his first five appearances, scoring from the spot on Sunday as Rangers drew 1-1 with Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
His excellent form in a Light Blue shirt has attracted interest from Chris Hughton’s Brighton, who are ready to test Rangers’ resolve with a bid before Thursday’s deadline.

The ball is very much in Rangers court over Tavernier’s future, though, after he signed a new deal earlier this year to see him remain at Ibrox until the summer of 2021.
Rangers are awash with full-backs after completing the signing of Borna Barisic on Tuesday, adding to options that include Declan John, Lee Wallace, Lee Hodson and Jon Flanagan.
