The former Rangers striker is said to be attracting interest from outside of Ibrox, but will Steven Gerrard’s side act?

Rangers may need to act fast if they want to bring Kyle Lafferty back to Ibrox.
Rangers bid £200,000 for Lafferty at the end of July – an offer that turned the striker’s head ‘a little bit’, according to his manager at Hearts, Craig Levein (BBC Sport).
And while it remains to be seen whether Rangers intend to pursue the Ulsterman’s signing – boss Steven Gerrard has somewhat intriguingly denied an interest in signing various alternatives – it is claimed that another club is doing exactly that (the Sun live blog (Wednesday 8th August).
Bolton Wanderers are said to want Lafferty as part of a £1.2 million double deal, alongside Apostolos Vellios of Nottingham Forest – with each player setting the Trotters back £600,000.

And however strong Lafferty’s affection for Rangers, a return to English football would surely appeal to the former Burnley player if an offer from Ibrox fails to materialise.
Interest from Bolton could however spark the Gers’ recruitment team back into life.
