Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly lining up a move for defender James Tavernier, and some of the Rangers fans on Twitter are convinced they should block his exit, while others have put a huge price tag on his head.

According to the Daily Express, Brighton are set to make a late bid for the 27-year-old as the English transfer window draws to a close tomorrow (Thursday) at 5:00pm.

It is understood that the Seagulls have been tracking the right-back for months and a move to the riches of the Premier League could be difficult for the player to turn down.

The report also adds that Josh Windass, Greg Docherty and Jack Alnwick could all still depart Ibrox this summer.

Tavernier was named Rangers captain following the arrival of manager Steven Gerrard at the beginning of the season and is considered a key part of the team.

The attack-minded full-back has started the new campaign in decent form, scoring two goals and supplying two assists in just five appearances across all competitions.

A selection of Gers supporters feel that Tavernier has to stay at Ibrox due to his influence on the team and some believe it would take a costly sum to prise him away.
