Rangers opened their season with a 1-1 draw at Aberdeen on Sunday.

Rangers opened their season with a 1-1 draw away at Aberdeen, and it’s fair to say that manager Steven Gerrard wasn’t too pleased with refereeing decisions at the final whistle.
The Gers went into the season with renewed optimism under new boss Gerrard, but got off to a dreadful start as Alfredo Morelos was given a straight red card for an off-the-ball altercation with Dons defender Scott McKenna.
However, Rangers regrouped and took the lead when Josh Windass was fouled inside the penalty area, with James Tavernier stepping up to score from the spot.
Rangers were outstanding with 10 men but started slipping further and further back, before Bruce Anderson rescued a point for the hosts with a last-gasp equaliser.
The Gers were left to rue the red card given to Morelos, but other decisions were also strange, such as Scott Arfield being booked for essentially being grabbed by Michael Devlin.
Manager Gerrard was far from pleased at the final whistle at Pittodrie, as he told Sky Sports that he feels the world is against Rangers – and has been for many years.

The comments haven’t exactly gone down well with non-Rangers fans, and pundit Chris Sutton has offered his view on the comments on Twitter.
Ex-Celtic striker Sutton suggested that Gerrard’s comments were ‘way off the mark’ and Morelos was ‘daft’ for his actions, adding that the world isn’t against Rangers and certainly hasn’t been for years as Gerrard suggested.
