According to a report from The Sun on Sunday (05/08; page 60), Aston Villa are closing in on their second signing of the summer with Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe close to sealing a loan return to Villa Park.

It has been a turbulent summer for the Villans, but they appear to have avoided seeing many of their serious concerns coming to fruition following their play-off final defeat last season.

The club confirmed the loan deal for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Andre Moreira towards the end of last month, and The Sun on Sunday reports that their second addition of the window could be on his way.

According to the report (05/08; page 60), Tuanzebe is close to agreeing a second loan spell and may be available to make his first appearance for Steve Bruce’s side when they take on Wigan Athletic next Saturday.

The Villa fans only got a brief glimpse of the 20-year-old’s potential last season as he made just five appearances before suffering a season-ending ankle injury against Cardiff City.

There appears to be a clearer path to the team for Tuanzebe this time around, too. John Terry’s departure has left Villa looking short of options at the heart of the defence so there is definitely an opportunity there for the Manchester United youngster to follow in former teammate Sam Johnstone’s footsteps and make his second loan spell significantly better than his first.
