La Liga champions Barcelona want to cash in on Andre Gomes and West Ham United could reportedly offer him an escape route.

It has been over a year since West Ham United were first linked with a move for the Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes. And, with just a week left in the transfer window, could the Portugal international be closer than ever to posing in claret and blue?
It has been well documented that Gomes has struggled badly at the Camp Nou since his £30 million move from Valencia in 2016. The powerful and dynamic player who shone at the Mestalla has looked a shadow of his former self under the microscope at one of the biggest clubs in world football.
And, with Gomes no longer a part of Ernesto Valverde’s plans, it seems that a move away would be the best solution for all parties.
And Spanish media outlet Esport 3 is reporting that the 25-year-old has a firm offer from West Ham with Manuel Pellegrini a big admirer.
It is added that the Hammers have already entered negotiations with the La Liga champions, who are keen to get Gomes and right-back Aleix Vidal off the books after selling Lucas Digne and Paulinho already this summer.

West Ham have spent around £100 million on new signings, but it seems that a central midfielder remains on Pellegrini’s wish list with the likes of Thiago Maia and Stefano Sturaro also heavily linked.
Gomes suffered a hamstring injury against Tottenham in the International Champions Cup at the weekend and will be sidelined for around a month.
