According to a report from Spanish media outlet Sport, Leicester are interested in signing Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer, and the Spaniard could be available for somewhere in the region of £27 million this summer.

The 24-year-old joined Barca from Valencia in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £25.5 million, according to BBC Sport, but he has since failed to establish himself at the Camp Nou.

It is maybe a little harsh to judge him on his two-year spell with the Catalan giants, however, considering the fact that he has always played second fiddle to the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar (before the Brazilian left for Paris Saint-Germain).

Leicester boss Claude Puel will certainly be looking to bolster his attacking ranks at the King Power Stadium this summer, in an effort to provide his side with more of a cutting edge in the final third.

Whether Alcacer is the man for the job, though, remains up for debate.

And £27 million seems like a rather steep price to pay for someone who has been anything but clinical over the past few years.
