Newcastle United fans react to Sean Longstaff's loan being cancelled

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez wants to give Sean Longstaff a chance at St. James' Park.

Newcastle United fans have been left delighted that Sean Longstaff appears set to be handed his chance by Rafael Benitez.

Longstaff has been with Newcastle’s first-team squad over pre-season, and they youngster has impressed enough to be kept around at St. James’ Park.

 

The Chronicle claim that Longstaff was set to be loaned out by Newcastle to Portsmouth, but that deal has now fallen through.

And Newcastle supporters appear delighted that Benitez is set to give the prospect an opportunity.

It has been a long time since Newcastle have actually had one of their own academy graduates develop into a first-team star.

Longstaff is yet to make his competitive debut for Newcastle, but he does have some first-team experience elsewhere.

The midfielder has been loaned out to Kilmarnock and Blackpool, and impressed for both sides.
