Luke Amos impressed for Tottenham against Roma.
Luke Amos has thrown his name into the mix for more first team opportunities for Tottenham after impressing against Roma.
As Tottenham lined up with a midfield of Amos partnering Moussa Sissoko, you would have forgiven fans for fearing the worst.
Amos used the chance to make a name for himself and given manager Mauricio Pochettino an extra headache.
The 21-year-old was energetic and comfortable in possession as he set about making life difficult for Tottenham's Italian opponents.
Spurs won the game 4-1 thanks to a brace from Fernando Llorente and Lucas Moura.
Amos was getting his chance due to extended World Cup absences of Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier, and he did just about all he could with the opportunity.
It was his cross, deflected, which led to Llorente's second goal of the game.
Amos has a lot of work still to do, but he has given himself a fighting chance of being around the first team set up if he can continue to impress.
Here is a look at how Tottenham fans reacted to his display...
Best way to start the day imo great result for the boys. Special shout out to Moura and Amos who had excellent games. Aurier yes made silly mistake for first goal but other than that very solid performance and excellent assist for Moura first goal.#SA24 #COYS #THFC #TTID pic.twitter.com/NeFFj7m6qk— #SA24 (@AurierOlogy) July 26, 2018
