Some Arsenal fans are already liking the look of Matteo Guendouzi.

Not many football fans - Arsenal or otherwise - had heard of Matteo Guendouzi when he arrived in the Premier League earlier this summer.

The 19-year-old joined Arsenal for £7 million [The Independent] from Lorient in the second tier of French football.

It's obvious that the youngster was not the most high-profile addition of Unai Emery's reign so far, but some fans of the North London club reckon they've got a future star on their hands.

Guendouzi played 73 minutes in Singapore as Arsenal drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in a pre-season friendly.

The young midfielder acquitted himself very well indeed and some Gunners supporters are already very excited about him.

Not much can be read into friendlies, given the lack of competitive nature, but it certainly seems as if Guendouzi could be a player.

With a chance to impress Emery, it wasn't a nothing game for him and he certainly grasped the opportunity with both hands.

Emile Smith Rowe scored the equaliser for Emery's side within two minutes of the restart, after Luciano Vietto had fired the Spanish giants ahead late in the first half.
