Reports that Sheffield United are on the verge of signing a rumoured Leeds United target are not going down especially well up the M1.
According to the Yorkshire Post, defender John Egan is Bramall Lane bound from Brentford - barely a month since Leeds were said by sister paper, the Yorkshire Evening Post, to have taken a look at him themselves.
Egan has established himself as one of the Championship's top centre-backs over the past two campaigns, having previously played for Sunderland and Gillingham.
And after Matthew Pennington's return to Everton, which preceded Paudie O'Connor's temporary exit to Blackpool, Egan is a player Leeds perhaps could have done with themselves - something on which several Whites fans appear to agree.
This is what they're saying about the potential Sheffield United recruit...
I wasn’t worried and thought maybe teams were struggling to get business done...but now I’m genuinely concerned because this is getting ridiculous ♂️— Lewy Pearce (@LewyPearce) 18 July 2018

Another one of our summer targets going to another club. The 'good money' part rules us out anyway. About time the poisoned dwarf sold up and ****** off ✊

Add John Egan to the long list of centre halves that are better than Liam Cooper and Conor Shaughnessy that we're letting go to another Championship club because we're ******* useless and enjoy coming 15th.
According to West London Sport, another of Brentford's rumoured Leeds targets, winger Florian Jozefzoon, could also be heading elsewhere, after the Bees' accepted an offer from Derby County earlier on Wednesday.
Should Leeds have gone for the Sheffield United bound star?
