According to Calciomercato, new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has told Alisson to delay a move to Liverpool – but Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio claims the goalkeeper is set for a medical with the Reds.

Liverpool have bolstered their midfield with the signing of Fabinho and the arrival of Naby Keita, whilst Xherdan Shaqiri has added depth out wide following his move from Stoke City.

However, one position Jurgen Klopp has been under pressure to improve is between the sticks, as goalkeeper Loris Karius endured a nightmare Champions League final against Real Madrid, which has been compounded by a torrid pre-season too.

The German looks set to be replaced this summer, and with Simon Mignolet and Danny Ward seemingly not in contention, the Reds are set to splash the cash.

Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Liverpool have now agreed a €75million (£67million) fee for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, bringing an end to a lengthy pursuit of the Brazilian.

Alisson, 25, has become one of the world's top goalkeeper since joining Roma from Internacional in 2016, and he will allegedly travel to England for a medical on Saturday ahead of completing his move.

Whilst Liverpool are set to make Alisson the most expensive goalkeeper in history, Chelsea are set to be left disappointed, as Calciomercato claim new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has asked Alisson to wait until Chelsea can make their own bid.

Chelsea look set to lose Thibaut Courtois this summer, and wanted Alisson as a replacement, but Sarri's pleas look set to fall on deaf ears as Liverpool edge ever closer to a deal.
