Harry Wilson has joined Championship outfit Derby County on loan from Liverpool despite Steven Gerrard’s Anfield connections at Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard were compared and contrasted throughout their playing career so it seems inevitable that the same thing will happen as they embark on a new life in management.
The former England pair have both stepped into the dugout at the same time, Gerrard taking the reins at Scottish giants Rangers while Lampard will attempt to end Derby’s 11-year exile from the Premier League next season. But has Lampard got one over on his one-time England midfield partner already?
Gerrard’s connections with former club Liverpool means the 37-year-old will be handed first refusal on any Reds youngster who is set to be loaned out by Jurgen Klopp, according to the Daily Record. Ovie Ejaria has already moved to Glasgow on a season-long deal.
But Lampard’s Derby have still managed to beat Gerrard’s Rangers to the signature of the sought-after Harry Wilson. The Scottish Sun claimed that the Gers were interested but the 21-year-old will now spend next season at Pride Park instead.

This is a massive coup for Derby, particularly as over a dozen clubs made an enquiry about the youngest player in Welsh international football. Wilson is a massive talent and already proven at Championship level, scoring seven goals in 11 starts at Hull in 2017/18.
Lampard 1 Gerrard 0.
