Jay Spearing welcomes former Liverpool colleague Ryan McLaughlin to Blackpool on Twitter

McLaughlin is the newest member of Blackpool's ex-Liverpool contingent.

Right-back Ryan McLaughlin is the latest former Liverpool player to sign for Blackpool.

The League One side announced McLaughlin's arrival on Tuesday morning, after agreeing an undisclosed fee with another Lancastrian club Oldham Athletic.

With ex-Reds Jay Spearing and Jimmy Ryan already on the books at Bloomfield Road, the 23-year-old should be in good hands.

And the former's reaction to the news on Twitter appears to support that theory.

"Great To Have Former Red @RyanMcL2 On Board. I Will Look After Him #UTP", wrote Spearing.

Of the three, McLaughlin is the last to have left Liverpool, moving to Oldham shortly after his release in 2016.

Spearing was sold to Bolton Wanderers three years prior to that, while it is more than a decade since Ryan quit Anfield for Shrewsbury Town.

McLaughlin becomes the 12th new arrival at Blackpool, who signed former Arsenal left-back Marc Bola earlier on Tuesday.

The Tangerines finished 12th last season, which was their first back in the third tier.

Can the former Liverpool trio help Blackpool to promotion?
