Rangers manager Steven Gerrard seems determined to bring Jake Cooper to Ibrox, with The Scottish Sun claiming that the Gers will make a third bid for the Millwall defender this week.
Ibrox club Rangers have had two bids turned down by Millwall for Cooper, according to The Scottish Sun, with the second offer claimed to be worth £3 million.
The London Evening Standard has reported that the Championship club in England have told Rangers manager Gerrard that the 23-year-old is not for sale in the summer transfer window, but the Gers will make a third offer for the former Reading man this week, claims the The Scottish Sun.
It seems that Millwall, who narrowly missed out on a Championship playoff spot last season, are determined to hold onto Cooper, and manager Neil Harris’s recent comments about the club’s transfer policy suggest that the Lions are not going to budge from their stance.
While discussing about signing players on their terms, Millwall manager Harris told South London Press & Mercury: “All transfers have to be on our terms – no-one else’s. If not, then we move on – the message is clear.”

Harris was speaking about incomings, not outgoings, but the aforementioned strong words suggest that Millwall would take the same approach for their players that other clubs may want.
While £3m is quite a lot of money for Millwall, Cooper is a very important player for the team, and him staying at The Den will only enhance the Lions’ chances of challenging for the Championship playoffs next season.
Perhaps Rangers may have to give up on their reported pursuit of Cooper.
