Rangers are still pushing to bring defender Jake Cooper to Ibrox.

According to STV, Millwall have rejected Rangers’ latest bid for defender Jake Cooper as they look to keep him at The New Den.
Rangers have already added two centre backs this summer in Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic, but new manager Steven Gerrard remains keen on adding one more player to the heart of his back line.
The Gers have seen Bruno Alves and David Bates head to Parma and Hamburg respectively, whilst Ross McCrorie looks to be a midfielder under Gerrard and Fabio Cardoso appears to be unwanted.
Gerrard is now hunting a left-footed centre back, and Millwall’s Jake Cooper has emerged as the top target – but Rangers have now had two bids rejected for the 23-year-old.
STV report that Rangers’ second bid of £3million has been rejected, with Millwall standing firm and attempting to keep the 6ft 4in centre back in South London.
Cooper only arrived on a permanent basis from Reading last summer after a successful loan spell, and scored four times in 42 games last season having played a key role under Neil Harris.

The centre back has been linked with Rangers for two weeks now, and the latest rejection leaves Gerrard with a dilemma; whether to keep going and attempt to force a deal or back away and target alternatives.
Blackpool’s Curtis Tilt has been mentioned as one alternative, and with Millwall refusing to budge even at £3million, Rangers may well find that they have to look elsewhere.
