Liverpool legend Gerrard, who was appointed the Rangers manager earlier this summer, was pleased with the performance of Jack against FK Shkupi at Ibrox on Thursday evening.
The Scottish Premiership side got the better of Shkupi 2-0 at home in the first leg of the Europa League first round qualifier.
Jack did not start the match for Rangers, but the 26-year-old former Aberdeen defensive midfielder came on as a substitute in the 56th minute.
Rangers manager Gerrard was impressed with the performance of Jack and has spoken highly of him.
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun: “I thought Ryan was good and very professional. I thought we lacked a bit of discipline in the first half in the eight position. When he came on he gave us a calmness and made us pass and change the play.”
Jack has been on the books of Rangers since the summer of 2017 after he left Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen.
The 26-year-old Scotland international defensive midfielder made 17 starts in the Scottish Premiership last season, providing two assists in the process, according to Transfermarkt.com.
The second leg of the tie will be held on Tuesday, and Rangers will be expected to win.
