The Scottish Sun reported on Saturday morning that Rangers could still sign Dominic Solanke this summer.
The Gers were heavily linked with a loan move for the Liverpool striker earlier in the summer but the trail went cold.
However, if the report from The Scottish Sun is accurate then Rangers fans shouldn't give up hope, but recent comments from the 20-year-old suggest that he won't be leaving Anfield.
Solanke, who scored one Premier League goal for the Reds last season, told the club's official website that he is looking forward to building on the foundations that he laid on Merseyside next term.
He said: "I've got my first goal now so obviously [I want to] build on that, get as many as I can this season and keep improving and help the team as much as I can."
Solanke's comments speak volumes because, well, the England Under-20 star obviously has designs on scoring goals for the Premier League side, which indicate that he doesn't plan on joining Rangers.
In truth, Steven Gerrard probably doesn't need him at Ibrox any longer after signing Umar Sadiq on a season-long loan from Roma.
Sadiq, like Solanke, is something of a target man and therefore it seems unlikely that Gerrard will want two of the same type of striker.
