It has been reported by the Turkish news outlet that Sivasspor and Newcastle are in talks over the transfer of Saivet.
Sivasspor’s new manager Tamer Tuna reportedly wants the 27-year-old midfielder on loan for next season.
The Senegal international midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Sivasspor, who finished seventh in the Super Lig table.
Departure best move?
Saivet has struggled to make a huge impact at Newcastle since his move from Bordeaux in January 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £4.5 million.
The Senegal international midfielder has made only a handful of league appearances for the Magpies, and he also spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Saint-Etienne.
It would make sense for Newcastle to offload Saivet - who earns £35,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com - even on a loan deal, as the midfielder clearly is not going to do much at St. James’ Park.
