Everton are interested in signing Lucas Digne from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to The Telegraph.

It has been reported that Digne is available for transfer this summer and has asked to leave Barcelona.

The report has also claimed that the left-back’s request is likely to be granted by Barcelona, with Everton most likely have to pay over £10 million for his services.

As reported by Sky Sports, Barcelona paid Paris Saint-Germain £14m in transfer fees for the 24-year-old left-back in the summer of 2016.

Good signing for Everton?

Digne may have struggled to make himself a regular for Barcelona, but there is no doubt that the left-back is a quality footballer who can only improve in the coming years as he is still only 24 years of age.

Having played for major clubs such as Lille, PSG, AS Roma (loan) and Barcelona, the France international would arrive at Goodison Park with a strong reputation.

Everton do need a young and promising left-back as a long-term successor, and Digne would be a smart signing for the Merseyside outfit.
