Everton have made an approach for AC Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci, Tuttomercatoweb report.

The Toffees are claimed to have contacted his agent Alessandro Lucci to discuss the possibility of a switch.

Bertolacci is an Italy international who won his first cap for his country back in 2014.

He has been at AC Milan since 2015 although spent last year out on loan at former club Genoa.

Milan paid 20 million Euros for Bertolacci (£17m) and he has struggled to justify his price tag.

His future is unclear and Everton appear to be one option for the 27-year-old.

Bertolacci is a box to box midfielder who started his career off with Roma.

Last season he scored one goal and provided one assist in 33 Serie A games for Genoa, who finished in 12th place.

He has just one year left on his contract at the San Siro, and so Milan could let him go for a knockdown price.
