Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has suggested in the Scottish Herald that more signings are on their way to Ibrox this summer.

Gerrard has already been active in the transfer market since arriving at Rangers, with nine new faces arriving already.

But Rangers are seemingly not done with the incoming additions yet, as Gerrard has hinted more new arrivals are expected in Glasgow in the coming weeks.

“We are very close to completing what we want. We feel the squad has improved an awful lot,” he said. “We are close to where we want it to be. There’s just a few more pieces missing maybe.”

Rangers have strengthened every area of their squad so far this summer, but are thought to still have a striker and a central defender on their wishlist, at the very least.

Dominic Solanke, Harry Wilson and Jake Cooper are among the players to have been linked with Rangers in recent times.

The Light Blues kick off their competitive season later this evening, when they take on Shkupi in qualifying for the Europa League.

A massive crowd is expected at Ibrox tonight, with the pressure on Rangers to pick up a comfortable victory.
