Perhaps the Jerry Mabkogu transfer saga is not quite done and dusted after all.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported yesterday that Leeds United are still in communication with Carpi about the striker and there could be 'significant' developments over the next week.

Target man Mbakogu has been linked to Leeds since January but the Whites have recently backed off a deal since Marcelo Bielsa took over as manager.

Despite this, they have not been able to bring any other strikers in.

This keeps the possibility alive that Mbakogu could arrive.

Fans are not impressed, believing the Serie B striker simply does not have what it takes to cut it for the Whites.

An injury plagued second half of the season with a persistent knee problem was a red flag too.

Leeds fans have become increasingly worried about the club's transfer business with no permanent deals completed yet so far, and if Mbakogu was the first one, it would be underwhelming.
