Confirmed Rangers line-up v FK Shkupi: Gerrard names first competitive team

A general view of Ibrox Stadium is seen ahead of the EURO 2016 Qualifier match between Scotland and Georgia at Ibrox Stadium on October 11, 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers take on FK Shkupi at Ibrox in the Europa League tonight.

Rangers starting line-up: McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Katic, Flanagan; McCrorie, Arfield; Candeias, Windass, Murphy; Morelos.

Rangers substitutes: Alnwick, John, Middleton, Halliday, Docherty, Ejaria, Jack.

Rangers kick off their Europa League qualifying campaign this evening as they host Macedonian side FK Shkupi at Ibrox - and they will hope to avoid a repeat of last summer's embarrassment against Progres Niederkorn.

A lot has changed since then; new manager Steven Gerrard is at the helm, and a host of new signings have arrived to boost Gerrard's options as he prepares for his first competitive game as Rangers manager.

Gerrard saw his Rangers side hammer Bury 6-0 in a pre-season friendly on Friday night, and he will be looking for a repeat of that result tonight having named a strong line-up for the game.

Gerrard has gone with the same side with beat Bury, with Allan McGregor starting in goal, whilst James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Jon Flanagan in the back four.

Scott Arfield and Ross McCrorie feature in midfield, with Daniel Candeias, Josh Windass and Jamie Murphy supporting lone striker Alfredo Morelos.

New signings Lassana Coulibaly and Umar Sadiq are unavailable, but Ben Alnwick,  Declan John, Glenn Middleton, Greg Docherty, Andy Halliday, Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Jack on the bench.
