Rangers might have let Joe Dodoo continue his development elsewhere next season but it seems that the seldom-seen attacker still has plenty of fans among the Ibrox faithful.
The former Leicester City youngster has joined League One side Blackpool on a season-long loan. But, reacting on Twitter to his departure, the Rangers supporters made it clear that they still believed Dodoo had a future at Ibrox.
But, if the 23-year-old wants to salvage his career north of the border, he will need to make a better impression than he managed at Charlton last season. Dodoo failed to start a single game in England’s third tier with the Addicks and his loan spell was cut short in January.
Dodoo has made a positive first impression with the Tangerines, however.
He scored on his debut in a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic, finding the net alongside Mark Cullen in a 2-2 draw. The Ghana-born former England U18 ace could hardly have started better in Blackpool colours.
Interestingly, however, Dodoo does have a history when it comes to fast starts. He scored a hat-trick on his first ever senior appearance for Leicester in an EFL Cup clash against Bury and netted on debut for both Rangers and Charlton too, before struggling to make an impact thereafter.
