Liverpool are interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calcio Insider, and some Liverpool fans took to Twitter today to deliver their verdict on the rumours.

The Reds were close to signing Nabil Fekir last month, before the move collapsed at the 11th hour, so Jürgen Klopp will now undoubtedly be lining up alternative targets.

These must be incredibly exciting times to be a Liverpool fan.

Klopp's men thrilled fans up and down the country last season, and they are being heavily tipped to make a sustained push for the Premier League title this season.

The German has already begun his summer work in earnest, bringing in midfield duo Naby Keita and Fabinho for just under £100 million, but the addition of another attacker surely features highly on his wish-list.

Calcio Insider claims that Brandt could very well be that man.

The 22-year-old can play anywhere along the front-line, and he would surely add extremely strong competition to the Merseyside outfit's famous front three.

Some Liverpool fans took to Twitter today to run the rule over the reported Reds target...
