Leeds United appear to be set to miss out on two of their top targets this summer.
Leeds United have put themselves under added pressure to land Britt Assombalonga, as they struggle to get a deal for a striker over the line.
Vydra and Hernandez have been Leeds’ top two targets so far this summer, as Marcelo Bielsa searches to improve his attacking options.
However, with the pair now looking likely to move elsewhere, Leeds’ striking options look weak and the Whites are playing a risky game.
The Whites were tentatively linked with Lewis Grabban earlier this summer, but he has moved to Nottingham Forest, and with deals for Vydra and Hernandez now falling by the wayside, Leeds are running out of options.
There simply isn’t enough proven Championship strikers out there for Leeds to continue to pass up opportunities.
And if Leeds don’t get a deal for Assombalonga over the line then they would risk denting all the optimism they have created from the appointment of Bielsa.
