Premier League side Everton had reportedly set aside £25million to sign left-back Kieran Tierney from Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

Celtic fans appear to be overjoyed with reports that an Algerian defender is on his way to the Premier League.
Why? Because this could be the boost they need to bring an end to those sleepless nights spent worrying about the future of Kieran Tierney.
The Daily Star is reporting that Everton are set to complete the signing of Rennes defender Ramy Bensebaini for a fee of £13 million. The 23-year-old is a versatile defender comfortable at centre-half but made the majority of his Ligue 1 appearances last season at left-back.

Therefore, Bensebaini could be the answer to Everton’s left-back problems and the much needed back-up option to the ageing Leighton Baines. But does this mean Celtic fans can relax a little, safe in the knowledge that Tierney is not on his way to Goodison Park?
The Mail stated this week that Everton were planning to offer £25 million for Celtic’s academy hero and the three-time SPFA Young Player of the Year winner. But, with a deal for Bensebaini looking increasingly likely, can we scratch Everton off Tierney’s list of suitors?

Some Toffees fanatics have pointed out that Bensebaini is more likely to be a direct replacement for Ramiro Funes-Mori than Baines’ long-term successor but that will not dampen the mood of these optimistic Celtic fans.
