Report: Steve Bruce still not thinking about quitting Aston Villa, despite Steve Round sacking

Aston Villa owner Tony Xia decided to sack Steve Round today, in what was an unexpected decision.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce still has no intention to stand down as manager.

Villa owner Tony Xia decided to sack Bruce’s assistant, Steve Round today, in a shock decision.

However, Xia is said to have no plans to get rid of Bruce too, and the experienced boss still does not want to leave.

Even though Bruce faces a tough task of restructuring Villa’s squad this summer, he is said to be up for the challenge.

The departure of Round was an unexpected move, and leaves Villa potentially having to have to search for another assistant coach this summer.

Villa are set to lose a number of key players, with Bruce limited to just bringing in free transfers and loans, due to the club’s financial struggles.

But, despite battling against a backdrop of uncertainly, Bruce is keen to stay at Villa Park and hopes to mastermind a successful season for the claret and blues, against all the odds.
