Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter is highly unlikely to play in Steven Gerrard's side's first two competitive fixtures.

According to a report in the Daily Record, Jordan Rossiter has been left feeling ‘absolutely sickened’ after picking up another injury in training.

Rossiter has damaged his ankle during training under Steven Gerrard, in what is yet another blow for the youngster at Ibrox.

There was a real sense that Rossiter could turn his time at Rangers around under Gerrard, as the pair know each other so well from their Liverpool days.

However, injury has hurt the midfielder again, and he is now said to be a highly unlikely to play for Rangers in their European qualification tie against FK Shkupi.

Rossiter is reportedly ‘sickened’ to have been left sidelined yet again, as he fights for a place in Rangers’ team next term.

Rossiter’s first two seasons in Glasgow have been blighted by injury and another problem is the last thing that the 21-year-old needed.

Rangers already have other options in midfield, and with his fitness once again proving unreliable, he may slip down the pecking order for places in Gerrard’s team.
