Liverpool new-boy Fabinho spoke exclusively to the Liverpool Echo, after making his summer switch from Monaco to Anfield, and shared the text message that he received from his countryman Roberto Firmino, before he was even on the Reds' radar.

Liverpool splashed out £40 million for the defensive midfielder, and many believe that his arrival on Merseyside will go a long way to helping Jürgen Klopp's side end their 28 year wait for a top flight league title.

Liverpool have also brought Naby Keita into Anfield, and they are already looking like quite the fearsome proposition ahead of the new Premier League season.

Fabinho spoke exclusively to the Liverpool Echo about how he is settling in on Merseyside, and shared how Roberto Firmino texted him before a move to Liverpool was even on the cards:

Monaco's Brazilian defender Fabinho scores a penalty during the French L1 football match Monaco vs Dijon on February 16, 2018 at the 'Louis II Stadium' in Monaco.

"Firstly he (Roberto) sent me some messages saying that Jurgen Klopp had been following me for some time and liked my style of play. Then, when we were close to finalising the deal, he started giving me some tips about life in the city. He told me Liverpool was a fantastic place, just a little cold every now and again!"

The Brazilian's versatility will surely prove to be vital to Liverpool this season, and with him amongst their ranks, the Reds have a great chance of bringing some major silverware back to Anfield this season.
