Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing the Boca Juniors winger.
According to a report from the Mirror, Arsenal are set to step up their pursuit of Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavón, after Argentina crashed out of the World Cup at the hands of France at the weekend.
Unai Emery has begun his Gunners tenure in earnest with the impressive signings of Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos already confirmed.
The Spaniard will certainly be looking to add a talented winger to his options at the Emirates this summer, however, following the exits of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain last season.
The Mirror claims that Emery is a big fan of Pavón, and is desperate to bring him to Arsenal this summer.
The British tabloid claims that the Gunners will now accelerate their pursuit of the 22-year-old, following Argentin's exit from the World Cup at the weekend.
Pavón is incredibly talented, and possesses the kind of pace and skill that would undoubtedly help Arsenal improve upon the potency of their attacking play.
Quite how much the north London outfit will have to pay, though, remains to be seen.
According to the Mirror, the Gunners had a £26.5 million bid for the Argentine rejected by Boca in January, and with the Superliga Argentina side not desperate to sell, it will surely take a substantial increase on that amount, if they are to be successful in their pursuit of the winger.
