Former Leeds United defender Sam Byram has been linked with Championship side Nottingham Forest of late, and now two former strikers from either club has commented on the West Ham star's most recent Instagram post.

The Sun claim Aitor Karanka's Forest are interested in taking the 24-year-old on a season-long loan from the London Stadium, while Leeds fans are keen to re-sign the right-back on Twitter.

However, it seemed to be business as usual for Byram as he posted a picture on Instagram following West Ham's return to pre-season training under new manager Manuel Pellegrini on Monday.

Byram's future at West Ham is seemingly in doubt with the east Londoners boasting experienced Premier League winner Pablo Zabaleta as well as new signing Ryan Fredericks as options on the right side of defence.

Injuries have limited Byram to just 36 West Ham appearances since joining the Premier League side in January 2016, and he has just two years remaining on his London Stadium contract.

Former Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci commented "Grande Sam" on Byram's post, while ex-Nottingham Forest forward Dexter Blackstock said "only fit people like you smile in pre-season", to which Byram replied.

It remains to be seen where Byram's long-term future remains, but he is expected to leave the Hammers if he is intent on getting some first-team football during 2018-19.
