Sweden's forward Pawel Cibicki (R) and England's defender Ben Chilwell vie for the ball during the UEFA U-21 European Championship Group A football match Sweden v England in Kielce, Poland...

Cibicki was hardly given a chance at Leeds following his move to Elland Road last summer.

Leeds United forward Pawel Cibicki has confirmed a six-month loan move to Norwegian giants Molde FK that will see him initially remain with the Tippeligaen side until the end of December.

Molde confirmed the capture of the 24-year-old on their official Twitter account, which sees the Sweden Under-21 international temporarily end his nightmare Leeds spell just one season after joining the Yorkshire giants.

Cibicki is one of a handful of failed Victor Orta signings, with the versatile attacker joining the likes of Felix Wiedwald, Jay-Roy Grot, Caleb Ekuban, Pierre-Michel Lasogga and Laurens De Bock all struggling.

He will now look to reignite his career in Norwegian football, with his Leeds contract set to expire in three years after his £1.5million move to the Championship giants.

Cibicki becomes the third player to leave Leeds this summer, with new manager Marcelo Bielsa wasting no time in reducing the size of his bloated Leeds squad.

Lewie Coyle has rejoined League One side Fleetwood Town, under new boss Joey Barton, while flop goalkeeper Wiedwald has returned to Germany to become Eintracht Frankfurt's back-up goalkeeper.

Cibicki managed just seven Championship appearances last season, all of which came during a brief spell in the first team under Thomas Christiansen during December and January.

Leeds fans reacted to the news that Cibicki had joined Molde on loan, with some fans asking why the switch to Molde was not a permanent one: "Option in January?", while other fans have asked if former Leeds man Alf-Inge Haaland's son - 17-year-old Erling - could come to Leeds as part of a swap.
