Celtic are reportedly chasing Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

Celtic have completed one signing so far this summer by landing forward Odsonne Edouard on a permanent basis from Paris Saint-Germain, but another attacking addition may be coming.

The Bhoys have seen winger Patrick Roberts return to Manchester City after two-and-a-half years on loan with the club, and manager Brendan Rodgers may now want another forward who can cut in from the right flank onto his left foot.

Liverpool's Harry Wilson fits that particular bill, and The Sun report that Celtic are now ready to make their move for the Welshman in the hope of bringing him to Glasgow on loan.

The report does also note that Rangers are looking to bring Wilson to Ibrox, with new boss Steven Gerrard seeking a favour from the Reds – but Rodgers may scupper those hopes.

Wilson, 21, joined Liverpool back in 2005 and has been coming up through the ranks at Anfield, but he has made just one first-team appearance for the club.

The talented winger spent the second half of last season out on loan with Hull City, and starred for the Tigers with seven goals and three assists in 13 appearances, helping them avoid relegation from the Championship.

Another loan move looks to be on the cards for Wilson, and Celtic are positioning themselves as a potential destination – but not all Bhoys fans are impressed with the rumours.

Some are fed up of Celtic taking young players on loan from other clubs and want to see more focus placed on developing the club's own youngsters, and don't want Wilson unless the deal comes with a purchase option.

Others think that Liverpool would rather send Wilson to Rangers in order to help Gerrard, whilst there is some debate over whether Wilson is good enough for Celtic anyway.
