McCrorie, who has been at Rangers since 2012, is a very talented and promising young player who can operate as a defender or as a midfielder.
Rangers legend Ferguson, who started his professional club football career at the Ibrox club and had another spell at the Gers, has given his verdict on McCrorie.
The former Scotland international midfielder has suggested that McCrorie should be made a key figure in the current Rangers team.
Ferguson has also stated that the 20-year-old Scotland Under-21 international midfielder has still not matured physically.
“Personally, I like McCrorie in front of the two centre-backs,” Ferguson told The Scottish Sun about McCrorie. “I thought he got unjust criticism last season.
“Physically he has still not matured and he’s young, but I think he could be a very good Rangers player in the future. I like him sitting in the middle of the park. I saw that at Pittodrie just before the end of the season.
“I thought he was Rangers’ best player and I feel all his best games have been in the middle of the park.”
Exciting times ahead
Rangers have been quite busy in the summer transfer window, and with Liverpool legend Gerrard now in charge of the Gers, fans must be optimistic about the season ahead.
McCrorie is only 20 years of age, and the Scottish youngster will improve working with one of the greatest midfielders of all time Gerrard.
