Norwich City are among the clubs considering offers for Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott, according to the Daily Mirror (liveblog entry 17:24) – alongside Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City.

The newspaper reports Peterborough have told suitors to cough up £6 million for Marriott, who scored 33 goals in his first season at London Road.

Matej Vydra of Derby celebrates during the Sky Bet Championship match between Derby County and Nottingham Forest at iPro Stadium on October 15, 2017 in Derby, England.

And it adds that Derby are likely to make an offer once they have sold Matej Vydra, whom they value at £11 million.

However, having recently sold wingers Josh Murphy and James Maddison to Premier League clubs for a combined fee of more than £30 million, Norwich may already have the means to beat them to it.

Though born in Beverley, East Yorkshire, it was at Norwich’s rivals Ipswich Town, in Suffolk, that Marriott began his career.

The 23-year-old only played three times for the Tractor Boys, however, and spent two seasons on Luton Town’s books before Peterborough picked him up.

Another of Marriott’s rumoured suitors, Leeds United, are leading the race to sign Vydra, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Czech Republic striker scored 22 goals for Derby last season.
