Ipswich Town have made a bid for highly-rated Blackpool defender Curtis Tilt as they look to beat a number of clubs to his signature, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

A number of clubs are weighing up a move for Tilt following his outstanding debut campaign for Blackpool last season after his arrival from Wrexham.

The classy central defender was a virtual ever-present for Blackpool last season in League One, making 45 appearances for the club in his first season in professional football.

The 26-year-old's commanding displays at the back saw him clean the boards at the club's end of season awards winning three prizes and his performances have brought him to the attention of a number of clubs higher up the football pyramid.

Championship trio Ipswich, Reading and Queens Park Rangers are all chasing Tilt as well as League One hopefuls Portsmouth during this summer's transfer window.
