Glasgow Rangers fans have called for Graham Dorrans to leave Ibrox this summer, after it was reported by the Glasgow Evening Times that he has left Steven Gerrard’s training camp in Spain early due to injury.
Dorrans picked up an injury last term and was in the treatment room over the back end of the campaign, with Rangers having to find cover for him.
Dorrans’ injury problems do not yet appear to be totally behind him yet, as he had to return to Glasgow for a scheduled scan on a knee complaint, meaning he has been unable to complete Gerrard’s first training camp.
Rangers fans are now calling for Dorrans to be offloaded this summer, as his fitness record is too concerning to keep him around.
He should just leave Rangers in general now— Christopher Paterson (@c_pat14) June 21, 2018
El floppo, let him go free to partick thistle.— D (@Dinkyrustle) June 22, 2018
That was my concern when we signed him.. too injury prone— David Smith (@davesmithers44) June 21, 2018
I hope it's moving on. Good player but we need better now and legs in the middle of the park.— R.S. Henin (@StuWrites1) June 21, 2018
Hopefully another team takes him off our hands.— Lewis (@Lloyd__72) June 21, 2018
Can we sell Dorrans already? Offers very little to this team. He is past it. https://t.co/d7yTTl1l3w— Calum Williamson (@CLMWSN_10) June 21, 2018
Dorrans has proven that he can be an asset to Rangers when fit, but he seemingly struggles to stay on the pitch.
The 31-year-old only joined Rangers last summer, and scored five goals in 12 league appearances, before injury struck.
Whether Gerrard will want to keep Dorrans around at Ibrox remains to be seen.
Rangers have strengthened their midfield this summer with the additions of Ovie Ejaria and Scott Arfield, so Dorrans faces a fight for a place in Gerrard’s starting line-up.
