Marcelo Bielsa’s big initial decision over whether to sign Matej Vydra or Abel Hernandez for Leeds United shows the progress that they are making.

Bielsa has only just taken charge at Leeds, but he already has an important transfer issue to solve.

The Yorkshire Evening Post have suggested that Bielsa must choose between Vydra or Hernandez, as Leeds cannot afford both.

Matej Vydra of Derby celebrates during the Sky Bet Championship match between Derby County and Nottingham Forest at iPro Stadium on October 15, 2017 in Derby, England.

But for the Whites to even be linked with one of the pair shows a big improvement on last season.

Leeds were scrambling around for bargains from abroad last term, with Thomas Christiansen eventually deciding that Pierre Michel-Lasogga was the man to lead the line.

It is fair to say that whoever Bielsa picks out of Hernandez or Vydra would be a much better option than the cumbersome Lasogga next season.

And Leeds fans should be extremely excited by the tough decisions Bielsa is already having to make at Elland Road, as it proves that they are starting to make significant progress.
