It looks like Everton-linked Jack Wilshere might be leaving Arsenal after all.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal have elected against signing up the 26-year-old to a new contract.
The Daily Mail's Live Transfer Blog [16/06/2018, 14:30] claimed that Everton, Wolves and West Ham United have all offered the England international a deal to join their respective club this summer.
Everton splashed some £26 million on the Netherlands international last summer but Klaassen only managed seven Premier League appearances, having struggled with English football.
It wouldn't be hard to be an ugprade on him, but Wilshere, who earns £90,000 per week in North London according to Total Sportek, is a huge step up, given his talent and experience.
Both are central midfielders, but Wilshere has the dynamism and acceleration that the Dutchman does not and fans of the Goodison Park side should be delighted if they sign him.
Wolves and West Ham won't give up without a fight, and the Hammers could be particularly threatening given that they have Manuel Pellegrini, a Premier League-winning manager, at the helm.
But Everton is the more exciting project overall, with Marco Silva replacing Sam Allardyce, and signing up Wilshere would be a brilliant step forward.
