Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent has been linked with a move to Glasgow Rangers and should now consider linking up with Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool winger Ryan Kent appears not to be in the plans of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp for next season, and reports have linked him with a number of clubs including SPL heavyweights Rangers.

Kent was loaned out to Freiburg at the start of the 2017/18 season but failed to make the most of his opportunity in the Bundesliga. He then spent the second half of the campaign at Bristol City and again struggled to make his mark under Lee Johnson.

Kent has shown glimpses at Anfield, featuring in the FA Cup in the 2015/16 season and in the Audi Cup against the likes of Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid last summer.

As claimed by Goal, Kent is a target for Rangers among others and that has to be an attractive option for the promising winger, with Gers boss Steven Gerrard already in the know when it comes to his quality.

It could be beneficial for Kent to move to Ibrox as he would likely be afforded decent game time by Gerrard, and he would arguably get to experience a more challenging ride than he would playing for a team like Celtic, with Brendan Rodgers' men a dominant force in Scotland at the moment.

It is important for the reported Rangers target to be involved as much as possible, just as he was on loan at Barnsley in 2016/17.

Steven Gerrard shakes hands with Dave King as he is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 21-year-old is a major flair player and is very direct, and he could work well supplying the ammunition for Gers forward Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox.

Ultimately it is the Gerrard factor that could see this move become a success for Kent. The familiar face that is the Liverpool legend would surely take the youngster under his wing and give him the confidence and freedom he needs to truly kick-start his career.
