West Ham United have been linked with a whole host of European stars since the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini, and are reportedly closing in on their second signing in the form of Lazio magician Felipe Anderson.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on Wednesday that a deal to sign Anderson should be completed on Thursday, for a fee of around £26.4million plus 20 per cent of the resale value.

It comes as the Hammers second signing after they captured Ryan Fredericks on a free from Fulham, and Daily Mail's live transfer blog (13/06; 16:48) claims that the east Londoners are looking to raid Lazio for a second time.

It has been reported that left-back Jordan Lukaku is high on the Hammers' shortlist, after an impressive campaign that saw the Belgium international make 44 appearances in all competitions.

Romelu's younger brother Jordan has only one more year remaining on his current contract with the Italian giants and could be set for a move this summer, with Lazio looking to avoid losing him on a free.

With West Ham reportedly keen, fans will be buoyed by Lukaku's comments from 2016, when he spoke to football website The Set Pieces about a potential move to the Premier League in years to come.

Now 23, Lukaku said: "Do I see myself as a Premier League-bound player? I don’t know, but it’s a league that would suit me. I have always been a fan of Arsenal, but I am mad about every Premier League club as long as the club doesn’t have to fight against relegation.”

Though the defender mentions Arsenal, it seems to be clear that Lukaku would be happy to move to a Premier League side - as long as they are not battling relegation.

The Hammers certainly did that at times last season, though with Pellegrini on board and the imminent signing of Anderson, they will be hoping for a lot better. The signing of Lukaku, then, is a possibility.
