Jordan Thompson left Rangers earlier this month, and has since joined Blackpool.

Former Rangers midfielder Jordan Thompson has agreed a move to English League One club Blackpool after the Gers decided not to offer the midfielder a new deal - and two ex-Rangers teammates have reacted on Twitter.

Thompson, 21, was released by the Gers despite starring on loan in Livingston's promotion to the Scottish Premiership towards the end of 2017-18, as Livi beat Dundee United and Partick Thistle in the play-offs.

A former Manchester United academy graduate, Thompson managed just three senior appearances for the Gers but was deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Steven Gerrard.

Former Gers loan star Sean Goss reacted on Twitter, after he himself returned to parent club QPR, while out-of-contract striker Ryan Hardie also congratulated Thompson on his move.

Since his release by Rangers, Thompson has even earned two caps for Northern Ireland. But following the signings of Scott Arfield and Ovie Ejaria, Thompson will have plummeted down the pecking order.

Now, he has the chance to shine at Blackpool, who finished 12th in the third tier last season and will now be looking to finish in the play-offs this time around.
