Leeds are likely to be after a left-back this summer.
The Daily Mirror have claimed that Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is looking to raid his old club and lure Jay Dasilva to Derby County this summer, but Leeds United must not let them land the highly-rated defender without a fight.
The 20-year-old starred at the Toulon Tournament with England, as the Young Lions held aloft the trophy for the third consecutive year. Dasilva started on the left flank for Aidy Boothroyd's side in all five matches.
England beat Mexico in the final 2-1, of which Dasilva featured for 90 minutes and now Lampard is considering a move to land the speed machine on loan after 18 months with League One side Charlton Athletic.
Dasilva was a regular throughout his entire time at Charlton, helping Lee Bowyer's side reach the League One Play-offs only to fall at the semi-final hurdle to Shrewsbury Town.
But the young defender, who has three years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge showed more than enough quality to suggest that he could walk into any Championship side as he continues to get better and better.
That should convince reportedly imminent new Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa to consider a loan move for the young Englishman, with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that the Whites are on the brink of appointing the Argentine.
Leeds desperately need a new left-back after Gaeteno Berardi's poor performances on the left side of defence prompted Victor Orta into splashing out on Belgian Laurens De Bock in January. But De Bock has been a complete flop.
Proven, English talent is the order of the day and luring Dasilva, ahead of Lampard and Derby's clutches, would be the perfect way for Bielsa to start his tenure at Elland Road.
