The Greek international only moved to the City Ground in the winter, signing an 18-month deal after being released by Olympiakos. And Kapino played just four times for the club, coming in for Costel Pantilimon at the end of last season with the Watford loanee absent for personal reasons.
But Kapino has already been linked with a departure from English football. The Mail last week stated that Atromitos, who finished fourth in the Greek Super League last season, were keen to bring the 24-year-old back home.
It is understood that the Championship giants are actively trying to move Kapino on this summer; a risky strategy considering that Stephen Henderson, who spent the last few months on loan at Portsmouth, has also been put up for sale.
It should not be forgotten that Forest have already bid farewell to Pantilimon upon the expiry of his loan spell and it remains uncertain whether he will be back for next season.
So if he, Kapino and Henderson all leave, which looks likely, Jordan Smith will be left as the club’s only senior goalkeeper.
