According to a report in Leicestershire Live, West Ham United are monitoring the situation with Leicester City defender Aleksandar Dragovic.

Leicester did not feature Dragovic particularly regularly last term, with Wes Morgan often picked ahead of him.

That decision seemed bizarre to most at the King Power Stadium, and West Ham are now hoping to capitalise.

The Austrian international could now be made available for transfer by the Foxes this summer, and he would be a smart addition to West Ham’s squad.

Of course, there may be some doubts over the transfer from Hammers supporters, as Dragovic wasn’t a regular at Leicester.

But that should not put West Ham off, as Dragovic has looked brilliant when he has been picked.

The commanding centre-back appears perfectly suited to Premier League football, and it is a mystery why Claude Puel didn’t select him more often.

Dragovic would arrive at West Ham with a point to prove, if he was to move to the London Stadium, and Manuel Pellegrini’s side could really benefit from bringing him in.
