The Real Madrid ace would reportedly be keen on a return to Tottenham Hotspur.
According to a report from Spanish media outlet Don Balon, Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale would prefer a switch back to Tottenham over a move to Manchester United, but Spurs fans don't seem to be convinced judging by their comments on social networking platform Twitter.
The Wales international left Spurs for Madrid way back in the summer of 2013, for a then world record fee of £85.3 million, and despite receiving criticism from some sections, he has gone on to notch up 88 goals and 57 assists in 189 appearances for Los Blancos.
Bale's future at the Santiago Bernabeu seems to be uncertain to say the least, especially with Madrid's rumoured pursuit of Brazilian superstar Neymar.
A return to north London would seemingly be the ideal outcome for all parties concerned, if not a little fantastical.
Whether Tottenham would be able to afford the transfer fee for 28-year-old is highly debatable, but not entirely impossible.
The Welshman's extortionate wage demands could prove to be the real stumbling block, however, although his love for Spurs could mean that a compromise is possible.
Either way, Tottenham fans don't seem convinced that Bale will be moving back to north London anytime soon..

Don balon are about as reliable as the sun. I would love it to happen but it won’t! 3 reasons I believe. 1. Bale now has a new manager (eventually) and I reckon he’ll be top don! 2. Ronaldo will leave and 3. we won’t pay the asking price! Always nice to dream though.— James (@Stradz1189) 11 June 2018
