According to the Daily Star, Brighton and Hove Albion defender Connor Goldson will join Rangers having rejected more lucrative offers elsewhere.
The Gers have snapped up three new faces this summer, as Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield and Ovie Ejaria have arrived at Ibrox, whilst loanee Jamie Murphy has made his move from Brighton permanent.
New manager Steven Gerrard is still looking for new signings though, and look sset to secure the signature of another Brighton player in the coming days.
The Daily Star report that a deal for Seagulls defender Connor Goldson is on the verge of completion, with a £3million move seemingly on the cards for the centre back.
In fact, the report even adds that Goldson is a boyhood Liverpool fans and wants to work with Gerrard so much that he has snubbed more money elsewhere in order to make a move to Ibrox.
Goldson, 25, joined Brighton from hometown club Shrewsbury in 2015, and has made more than 40 appearances under Chris Hughton, but missed a huge chunk of 2017 due to a heart defect.
Goldson is now back fighting fit and is ready to leave Brighton following the signing of Nigerian international defender Leon Balogun, with Rangers the beneficiaries.
Rangers fans should be delighted, not only because Goldson will be filling a major area of concern in the heart of defence, but also because new manager Gerrard is the reason that the Gers are set to pull off a big deal this summer ahead of rival clubs.
