Carlos, who is one of the greatest left-backs of all time and won La Liga and the Champions League with Madrid and the 2002 World Cup with Brazil, has also said Alli plays like a Brazilian footballer.
“England are one of the favourites after Brazil,” Carlos told The Sunday Mirror (print edition, page 72, June 10, 2018). “But I really like Dele Alli - he’s a lot like a Brazilian player.
“I saw him at the Real Madrid against Spurs game and he was impressive. He’s tall and has real ability - a very good player. He has that swagger that Brazilians have.”
Alli is one of the best young midfielders in the world and has done well for Tottenham since his move from Milton Keynes Dons.
The youngster, who earns £50,000 per week as salary according to The Daily Star, also scored two goals and provided four assists in five Champions League appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's during the 2017-18 campaign.
Alli will be an important player for England in their quest to have a successful World Cup campaign in Russia this summer.
